COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Mayor Yemi Mobolade and local small business owners discussed state grants being awarded to Colorado Springs small businesses on Monday.

Mayor Mobolade and representatives for local nonprofits that financially support these small businesses announced the 12 recipients of a combined nearly $400,000 in funding.
Two of the businesses awarded funding, ICONS and Jubilee, were part of the handful of businesses impacted by the fire on Bijou Street late last year that forced them to temporarily close, and then later close indefinitely because after their leases were terminated due to the damages .
Several different types of businesses are represented in the group receiving funding, including restaurants, galleries, childcare providers and more. The full list of businesses receiving funding is as follows:
-The Thrive Networks–a local non-profit focused on strengthening under-resourced communities– was given a grant of $190,000 dollars to award to and support the following six businesses: A Fresh Move, Felipe’s 109, Leave It At Your Door, Luxe Daiquiri, The Lighthouse Early Childcare and Education Corporation, and Viva Marketing and Consulting.
-Downtown Ventures–the non-profit branch of Colorado Springs’ Downtown Partnership–was awarded a grant of $182,000 dollars to award to and support the following six businesses: Auric Art Gallery, Bosky Studio, ICONS, Ladyfingers Letterpress, Shuga’s, and Jubilee.
